A Scene to Discover | Decorative Lacquer & Inlay
A landscape of dancers and a pagoda unfolds across this black lacquer coffee table, brought to life with mother-of-pearl, stone inlay, and gold- and silver-painted details. Figural decoration continues along the sides, giving the piece interest beyond its tabletop.
Place it before a softly upholstered sofa, where the dark finish can anchor the seating area and the intricate scene can invite a closer look. Keep accessories simple—a few favorite books and one beautiful object—to leave room for the table’s own artistry.
Dimensions: 42" W × 21.5" D × 16" H
Period: Mid-20th Century
Materials: Lacquered wood, mother-of-pearl and stone inlay, painted decoration
Condition: Good vintage condition, with wear consistent with age and use
