Rich Marble & Gold | A Sculptural Antique
Marble in clay red, ochre, and white brings a richly patterned surface to this Louis XIV console. The carved giltwood base provides an equally decorative foundation, with ornate connecting rails meeting at a central gilt finial.
Place it beneath a mirror in an entrance hall or against a living room wall with a favorite painting above. Its combination of colorful stone and gilded carving creates a focal point that needs little embellishment—a lamp or a single beautiful vessel allows the materials to take center stage.
Dimensions: 39" W × 26.5" D × 33" H
Period: 17th Century, as listed
Style: Louis XIV
Materials: Carved giltwood and marble
Condition: Good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use
