A Golden Wit | Contemporary Sculpture
A gilded sphere with a playful twist, Medicine Ball by Michael Stallings rewards a closer look. Repeated caduceus symbols, hand-etched by the artist, transform the wooden form into a visual pun. Created in Texas in the early 2000s as part of his Visual Pun series, the signed sculpture pairs a water-gilt finish with an unexpected sense of humor.
Displayed on its included stand, it brings a bright sculptural accent to a library, living room, or quiet corner. Give it space to stand alone, where visitors can discover both the intricate surface and the joke behind its title.
